Michigan's got her Autumn on. Took this at a roadside park on the way to my in-laws.

Only good shot I got because, as the most beautiful light was hitting the most incredible trees, 5 little black kittens crept out of the underbrush and started spinning tales of tragedy and woe about their dumbass humans just DUMPING them there. In November. In Michigan. In the woods. Sweet, loving kittens so tame they strolled right up to 2 strangers with 3 big dogs in tow to ask for help.

Yeah.

So I lost the light. But on the other hand, we gathered up all 5 kittens and took them to my in-laws.

Priorities, I think they call it.

So that's the way it happened. Five hours away from anywhere we were going with 3 dogs (a rottie/border, a boxer/greyhound and a shepherd mix ... these are NOT small dogs!), 5 kittens, and 2 adults mushed into an Xterra packed to the gills with luggage and dog toys.

Cozy.

Hekyll, Jekyll & Bob. Leonidis & Razzmatazz. Razzy and Jekyll stayed with the in-laws. Hekyll, Bob (who turned out to be a girl!) and the king of Sparta came back home with us. And we all lived happily ever after.

Except the jackasses who dumped 5 little kittens in the woods. If there's any justice in the world, THOSE dumb-asses died a horrible, horrible death. Or at least got audited by the IRS or something.
